Martha’s Vineyard Wedding
I’ve had great experiences travelling to Martha’s Vineyard for weddings. On several occasions, I was also the Wedding Planner and Coordinator besides being a Wedding DJ.
During this ceremony there was a hurricane coming that Friday before the Wedding on Saturday. The venue chosen was Martha’s Vineyard Sailing Camp Park overlooking Lagoon Pond and outer Vineyard Haven Harbor in Oak Bluffs. I had to get the ferry out of Woods Hole and all my equipment before it hit the island. On the first boat out to prepare, there weren’t too many people or vehicles aside from storm clean up crews.
The rehearsal at 4pm began just as the clouds darkened. It took about an hour to get it all together and run through a couple of times, but we did it!
It started to rain at 5:30. When I returned to my waterfront room they’d boarded up the windows with plywood. I love to watch the ocean during storms so I sat outside under cover with other guests who also had boarded window views. I had my outdoor “no power needed” equipment and played some tunes as we enjoyed a couple of drinks and sang karaoke. It was a great time!
It was still raining the next morning. Thankfully the sun broke out a half hour before the ceremony as guests were arriving. The wedding went perfectly with a clear blue sky overhead. It was a wonderful, magical day. My clients, their families, and guests had the time of their lives!
